These were the first Digital Audio Optical Cables I have used and at first I thought they were not correct for my electronics. One end fitted perfectly into the Optical Out on my TV. The red light was visible on the other end. I tried to connect it to the Optical In of my AV receiver but it would barely fit in the port and stay in place.

On closer inspection of the cable tips, I figured out there was a translucent plastic protector plug on the optical tips. I pulled them off (they are only about the size of a rice grain) and then the cable fitted perfectly into the AV receiver and snapped tightly into place. Now I get great sound from my HDTV through the AV receiver.

This brand of Digital Audio Optical cable by Amazon seems to be very good quality at a reasonable price. -- Good cable quality but I initially had problems connecting it to my components.

First things first - digital is digital, and never moreso than with optical signals. Either the light makes it from point A to point B or it doesn't. Monster and company would prefer you didn't know that, but it's true. That said, this cable is made of some fantastic materials, and is as good as any of the TOSlink cables I have costing several times more. If this is the type of connection you need, it's truly pointless to spend any more money than this. These cables are wonderful. -- All You'd Ever Need

Bought this to use with a Sonos D90 player, but the stereo I was hooking it up to only had RCA jacks. GReat cable, but have not used it yet. -- Looks great

Yes, you can pay Monster a ridiculous amount of money for their cables but I'm not sure that most humans' eyes and ears could tell the difference. These cables work great and they're a tremendous value. Way to go Amazon! -- Loved this cable!
